Leveraging Synergies to Improve Food Safety The Fagaru (Senegal) and KiBuLiHa (Democratic Republic of Congo) projects of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, supported by WBI, aim to create a network of players in agriculture and public health to exploit synergies for the benefit of food and nutritional security. Development of Vibrational Spectroscopy and Hyperspectral Imaging in the Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Fields Vibrational spectroscopy and hyperspectral imaging are analysis techniques that are rapidly gaining ground, including in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. These techniques enable rapid, non-destructive and versatile analysis while avoiding the use of organic solvents or sample preparation steps. These techniques are said to be «green, sustainable and low-cost.» FIND OUT MORE A CO2 Technology Platform The FRITCO2T platform (Federation of Researchers in Innovative Technologies for CO2 Transformation) brings together the activities of four ULiège laboratories (in engineering, science and medicine) studying technologies and materials for the capture and reuse of CO2 emissions for the benefit of society. FIND OUT MORE SMEs and the Environment The objectives of this HEC Liège - Management School project are twofold. Firstly, the project aims to fill the data gap on the environmental activities of SMEs by producing a new and unique dataset. Secondly, the project hopes to provide evidence of the link between SMEs’ environmental characteristics and their performance, cost of debt and financial constraints. The matched dataset will be used to carry out the analysis, and the results will have implications for SME managers, investors and policy makers. Report on the Impact of the Climate Transition on Employment in Belgium The Laboratoire d’Études sur les Nouvelles formes de Travail, l’Innovation et le Changement (LENTIC) of HEC Liège - Management School has participated, in collaboration with ClimACT and HIVA-KULeuven, in the drafting of a report that aims to examine the impact of the 2050 climate neutrality objective on the Belgian labour market, in the context of the ecological transition in Belgium. The aim of the report is to identify mechanisms to ensure that the labour market supports the transition and that the necessary skills are available to make it a success.
