Publication of the University of Liège's 2024-2025 "Sustainability & Transition" report
This new report highlights not only the remarkable dynamism of the academic community, but also the significant progress made during the 2024-2025 academic year.
From a sustainability perspective, the university's mission of service to the community can be expressed through the commitment of individual members of the Université de Liège, or through the services the institution provides in its areas of action by relying on its transmission belts.
ULiège encourages the voluntary commitment of its students and staff to social and environmental transition. It does so through the status of "committed student", through specific calls for projects such as the TSE calls and the Boost calls for sustainable projects. It has entrusted its Green Office with the task of raising awareness and mobilizing members of the University, notably by designing a commitment platform Uni For Change that enables everyone to take concrete action. Finally, it enables students to put themselves at the service of the community as part of their courses via a specific Service Learningpedagogy.
ULiège's commitment to the community is also demonstrated through the dissemination of knowledge aimed at supporting the transition of external stakeholders towards greater sustainability. Various transmission belts (Liege Créative and Luxembourg Creative, Alliance Transition Ecologique or the Pôle Muséal et Culturel with notably the Maison des Sciences de l'Homme and Réjouisciences) make explicit ULiège's openness and commitment to the sustainability of its areas of action, this includes a commitment to international solidarity, notably through the university NGO Ucoopia or through university development cooperation projects coordinated by Pacodel.
This new report highlights not only the remarkable dynamism of the academic community, but also the significant progress made during the 2024-2025 academic year.
Aware of its responsibility to transmit knowledge and produce high-quality research for the benefit of society, ULiège thus reaffirms the key ethical principles to which it adheres.
Faced with the environmental and social challenges we face, ULiège is launching a free MOOC to help everyone understand the challenges of transition.
