"SCIENCE, LIBERTIES, DEMOCRACIES" WEEK In addition to its participation in Liège Pride in August 2024, ULiège, as it does every year, symbolically raised the rainbow flag on its various campuses, including for the first time at the HEC Liège site. During "Science, Liberties, Democracies" week, various events were organised under the same banner, including the LGBTQIA+ theme as part of a more comprehensive approach to equality. The Gender and Equality Council (CGE) also invited a number of LGBTQIA+ associations to meet with students in the hall of the 20-Août complex. On the eve of the International Day Against LGBTQIA+ phobia on 17th May, the CGE collaborated with Dominique Morsomme and the Faculty of Psychology, Speech Therapy and Education to inaugurate the statue "Isabelle", marking support for victims of transphobia. Genre-egalite (genre-egalite@uliege.be) FEMINISATION OF CLASSROOM NAMES More than just a symbolic gesture, the process of feminising classrooms aims to extend gender equality in spaces frequented by the university community and to consolidate the sense of legitimacy of the women who occupy them. Each faculty was invited by the CGE to set up a working group to propose names related to its disciplines, and a meeting bringing together representatives from each working group ensured the harmonisation of practices and enabled follow-up. Several notable advances and inaugurations were welcomed within the faculties in 2024 and 2025. Marie Troquette, a master's student in gender studies, devoted her internship at the CGE to exploring this issue, formulating proposals tailored to each faculty. The CGE also provided a framework for faculty working groups to guide them in the event of obstacles. In September 2025, the proposals from each faculty will have to be compiled for approval by the Vice-Chancellor, if this has not already been done. However, the process will not end there, as it is part of an ongoing an active approach to countering certain biases and inequalities that still exist today. Genre-egalite (genre-egalite@uliege.be) WORKSHOP: "OUR EMOTIONS IN THE FACE OF GLOBAL DISRUPTION" At the University Psychological and Speech Therapy Clinic, Clara Della Libera and Marie Dethier, both clinical psychologists, offered a series of therapeutic workshops devoted to emotions in the face of global disruption. Comprising eight group sessions, this programme aimed to provide a better understanding of the emotions linked to global and personal issues, to restore meaning to them, and to encourage concrete and aligned choices for action. The programme included meditation, exploration of emotions, and mobilisation of personal and interpersonal resources, in a dynamic of more conscious and balanced engagement.
