5.3 FUTURE PROJECTS In order to more firmly anchor the social, environmental and digital transition at the heart of its operations, ULiège is thoroughly reviewing its sustainability governance. From the overhaul of the bodies involved in the transition to the development of an institutional ethics charter and the structuring of a Responsible Digital Roadmap, these projects aim to strengthen the coherence, transparency and effectiveness of the university's action in the face of major contemporary challenges. They reflect a clear desire to collectively promote a systemic, participatory and committed vision of change. REVISION OF TRANSITION GOVERNANCE BODIES Since 2019, several bodies related to sustainability have been set up, including the Institutional Sustainable Development Unit (CiDD), the Scientific Council and the Sustainable Development Office. With the adoption of the Transition Roadmap, a new governance structure will be proposed in 2026, comprising three bodies: the Institutional Sustainability and Transition Unit (CiDT), the Sustainability and Transition Steering Committee and the General Assembly of the Transitions Laboratory. The CiDT, which is part of the Institutional Support Unit, will be coordinated by the Sustainability Officer and includes the Green Office. It is responsible for monitoring and reporting on the Transition Roadmap and mobilising its academic community around its actions. The Steering Committee ensures strategic and operational consistency, while the General Assembly of the Transitions Laboratory provides expertise and recommendations on flagship projects. This restructuring of the governing bodies improves their clarity and effectiveness and reflects a desire to promote a systemic approach to social and environmental transition.
