CALL FOR «OPEN SCIENCE, ART & CULTURE» PROJECTS FROM THE MAISON DES SCIENCES DE L’HOMME The ULiège’s Maison des Sciences de l’Homme (MSHULiège) offers citizens and researchers a space for reflection and debate, where knowledge can be shared, exchanged and enriched. To do this, it has three areas of activity: events, research and publications. The organisation provides targeted, innovative support for various knowledge mediation initiatives and processes. In December 2023, it launched a second call for «Open Science, Art & Culture» projects (projects selected to start in autumn 2024). Twenty-eight projects were submitted (6 selected), within two instruments: Cross-expertise laboratory (max €2,500 in justified running costs) and unprecedented experience-sharing project (max €5,000 in justified running costs). The aim of this call for proposals was to encourage research or knowledge-sharing processes based on collaboration with the outside world. The projects supported in this way share a common aim: to work towards a more cohesive society, attentive to the well-being, inclusion and respect of all its members: women (the «casseuses d’ambiance» project (mood breakers)); teenagers faced with the issue of loss, suicide and bereavement (the «sweet sixteen» project ); people who are ill (the «En-quête : devenir adulte» project). In terms of commitment to the environmental transition, a number of the projects selected deal with debates on these issues («futurs radieux» and «seedgraphy» projects). MORE INFORMATION RÉJOUISCIENCES FOR SUSTAINABILITY AND TRANSITION The Réjouisciences programme addresses sustainability and transition either as a central theme or as a crosscutting concern. In terms of topics covered, for 2023-24 we can mention the «climate mornings» (presentations by students aimed at schoolchildren, coordinated by Guy Munhoven), the ‘Printemps des Sciences’, whose theme for 2024 was ‘Terre Rare’ (around a hundred activities for schools and the general public organised by lecturers, researchers and students from the University of Liège and the Hautes Écoles, as well as external partners), the ‘Lichen go’ participatory science project (run at inter-university level as part of the Sciences.be network), and World Oceans Day (coordinated with the Aquarium-Muséum, the Maison de la Science, oceanographers and oceanologists). With a view to setting an example, Réjouisciences projects are intended to be not only inclusive, but also ecoresponsible. They contribute to the dissemination of knowledge, are gender-sensitive and are free and open to as many people as possible (general public, schools).
