UPDATE OF THE INFRASTRUCTURE STRATEGIC PLAN The updated Strategic Infrastructure Plan was approved by the Board of Directors in March 2024. This new version reinforces the integration of sustainability criteria in the implementation of major infrastructure projects. The plan also encourages the use of renewable and existing resources and energies, such as infrastructure renovation, reuse and recycling, while limiting unnecessary finishes. It also aims to make optimum use of residual resources and energy. Anne-Françoise Marique, afmarique@uliege.be ENERGY RENOVATION OF THE INSTITUTE OF ZOOLOGY To reduce its energy consumption, the Institute of Zoology, a building constructed in the 1880s and renovated in the 1950s, has been undergoing major works since 2023-24. The work involves the renovation and thermal insulation of the roofs, as well as the installation of photovoltaic panels. The windows have been renovated or replaced, the boilers replaced and the electrical system brought up to standard. The aim is to improve energy efficiency and modernise the infrastructure of this historic building.
