CIRCULAR ECONOMY: REPAIR CAFÉ In October 2023, a Repair café opened on the Sart Tilman campus to extend the life of electronic and household appliances belonging to members of the ULiège community. It also offers users training to enable them to carry out repairs themselves. In its first year of operation, 149 items were repaired (45%), 11% were repairable and 29% are awaiting repair. Only 15% of the items were beyond repair. The items brought in were mainly small household electrical appliances (30%), laptops (29%), electronic devices (18%), smartphones (11%), electrical appliances (8%) and printers (2%). The majority of users were ULiège students (43%) and staff (52%), but the Repair café is also open to the province’s other higher education institutions.
