CREATION OF A SUSTAINABLE AND INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY VEGETABLE GARDEN AND ORCHARD AT THE FACULTY OF GEMBLOUX AGRO-BIO TECH The Faculty of Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech Urban Agriculture Research Centre, in collaboration with the town of Gembloux, the company Green Surf, and with the support of the Walloon Region, will shortly be launching an agrieducational project. The aim of the project is to transform two brownfield sites on the WASABI site into a 1,600 m² vegetable garden and a 2,800 m² orchard, co-created and co-managed by local residents, students, researchers, faculty staff, local nature development plans and local associations. Workshops and community events will be organised to teach sustainable gardening techniques, and special facilities will facilitate access for people with reduced mobility. MORE INFORMATION MOBILITY: UPDATING POLICY AND IMPROVING INFRASTRUCTURE Defined in 2020, the daily mobility policy and its action plan, the aim of which is to support the transition to more sustainable mobility, will be updated at the end of 2024 on the basis, in particular, of the data collected from ULiège members (ULiège Pedestrian Barometer in 2023), the «bicycle/scooter» survey at Gembloux Agro Bio-Tech in 2024 and the survey of home-campus travel conducted every 3 years (2017, 2021 and 2024). Efforts to improve infrastructure and encourage active mobility will continue on all ULiège campuses, with the planned renovation/creation of paths (Sart Tilman) and the installation of new secure bicycle parking facilities on the Arlon, Gembloux and Liège campuses and sites (Constitution, Pitteurs, Polytech and Vallée).
