WHEN SCIENCE RHYMES WITH CONSCIOUSNESS: THE COMMITMENTS OF RÉJOUISCIENCES The Réjouisciences programme addresses sustainable development either as a central theme or as a crosscutting issue. Examples include the 'Researchers' Night 2025', dedicated to 'One Health', and the 'Printemps des Sciences', whose theme for 2025 was water (around 100 activities for schools and the general public, led by teachers, researchers and students from universities and higher education institutions, as well as external partners), the participatory science project "Lichen go" (conducted on an inter-university scale as part of the Sciences.be), and "World Oceans Day" (coordinated with the AquariumMuseum, the Maison de la Science, oceanographic researchers and oceanologists), to name but a few. Rejouisciences@uliege.be FIND OUT MORE MAPATHON 2025: MAPPING TO HELP BETTER The Mapathon is a collaborative event aimed at producing digital maps to support humanitarian actions in crisis areas. Organised as part of the Printemps des Sciences, the national Mapathon brought together eight Belgian universities this year. In Liège, a session was organised on Thursday 27th March, on the initiative of the Geomatics Unit. The project was part of the international Missing Maps programme, launched to map poorly documented areas affected by natural disasters or humanitarian crises. Open to all, it allows everyone to contribute remotely or on site, with a brief introduction to digitisation. These maps are then used by NGOs, such as the Red Cross and Médecins Sans Frontières, to improve the effectiveness of their interventions. A solidarity initiative that is concrete and accessible to all. Rejouisciences@uliege.be FIND OUT MORE TERRA DAY, DISCOVER RESEARCH THAT ADDRESSES ENVIRONMENTAL CHALLENGES Since 2016, Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech has been opening the doors of its campus and the TERRA centre to introduce the ULiège community and the general public to the latest innovations in scientific research. In 2025, the TERRA research unit and Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech welcomed more than 200 participants during the Printemps des Sciences to showcase the scientific advances in sustainable agriculture, natural resource management, biotechnology and food.
