ACCESSIBILITY FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES: WORK ON THE “AMPHITHÉÂTRES DE L’EUROPE” The adaptation work to improve accessibility for people with disabilities in building B4 (“amphi de l’Europe”), partly funded by a grant from ARES, was completed in 2024. This work, carried out in a building that is very popular for its lecture theatres, classrooms and various events, included the creation of parking spaces for people with disabilities, a complete overhaul of the west access (including a ramp, new flooring and rest areas), the installation of door closers and the adaptation of the sanitary facilities. In the interests of social justice and quality of life, ULiège has carried out a number of projects to ensure that members of its community are welcomed and cared for, whether by adapting its campuses to improve accessibility for people with disabilities, setting up workshops to combat harassment or welcoming researchers at risk.
