The primary mission of the Administration des Ressources Immobilières (ARI) is to provide the university community with functional, high-quality real estate infrastructures, within the limits of the resources allocated.

he ARI takes a cross-functional approach to sustainable development, from the feasibility/design phase through to the use of the infrastructure, using an approach inspired by the "negawatts" and "trias energetica" frameworks:
- Evaluate and determine needs in a fair and rational way, in order to meet demand in the most appropriate way (e.g. rational use of surface areas, locating activities in the right place based on multi-factor analyses, investigating opportunities for pooling)
- Use renewable and existing resources and energies wherever possible (e.g. encourage infrastructure renovation, reuse, recycling, limit unnecessary finishing)
- Use residual resources and energy as efficiently as possible
- Ensure ongoing monitoring and upkeep to ensure the longevity of infrastructures (e.g. maintenance, servicing, regulation, leak detection)
- Contribute to user information and awareness
These ambitions in terms of sustainable infrastructure development are set out operationally in the following thematic plans:
- strategic infrastructure plan (buildings)
- energy and environmental policy
- mobility policy
- Urban and landscape planning for the 4 campuses
- biodiversity (green spaces, outdoor areas, classified reserves, etc.)
- waste management
- water management
