The University of Liège is also committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle, a source of well-being, through various initiatives focusing on sports, access to quality food and water for members of its community.

In its declaration of well-being, the Université de Liège aims to promote the well-being of its staff, students and all those involved in its activities (external collaborators, third parties, visitors, partners, etc.). It is committed to protecting them from nuisance and occupational hazards, and undertakes to implement measures to achieve these objectives.

The university offers access to psychological support services, such as individual consultations with qualified counsellors. These services are designed to help students and staff cope with stress, anxiety, depression and other psychological health problems, affective and/or sexual ones that may affect their well-being.

For employees, the institution provides individualized assistance and support in returning to work after long-term illness or accident, by adjusting working conditions, implementing appropriate structural and/or relational arrangements, improving ergonomics, ensuring systematic follow-up and/or limiting the risk of relapse.

Students are offered training in risk reduction in the festive environment to prevent alcohol and substance abuse, risky sexual behavior and first aid.

For staff members, training is offered in personal development or to equip them with new key skills for a dynamic and serene career path.

health and well-being programs are organized on a regular basis, covering topics such as stress management, relaxation, mindfulness and problem-solving techniques. These programs aim to strengthen wellness skills and promote a culture of mutual support within the university community. ULiège also raises awareness of the importance of maintaining or developing a healthy lifestyle (diet, sleep, physical activity, etc.).

The university encourages the practice of physical activities and sports by providing high-quality sports facilities and offering a variety of courses and activities. ULiège also organizes sports sessions at democratic prices for members of its community and beyond, to encourage an active and balanced lifestyle. These activities are beneficial to physical and mental health, promoting general well-being and stress management.

ULiège has implemented a policy in favor of healthy and sustainable food in university canteens, giving priority to local and organic products wherever possible. In addition, water fountains are available on campus to ensure free access to this resource while reducing the use of plastic bottles.
