Stop using electric radiators!
No battle between the "big sweater team" and the "heater team". Even if the temptation is great to raise the temperature a few degrees by plugging in an electric heater, these figures will dissuade you!
The use of electric heaters should be avoided at ULiège. Indeed, electric heating represents about 50% more CO2 emissions per unit of energy than the University's conventional heating systems. This type of heating also costs about 3 times more.
As a comparison, the power of a heater (about 2000 W on the maximum position) corresponds to about 30 large non-LED neon tubes.
What to do if it is unusually cold in a room?
As a reminder, the temperature in heated rooms is limited to a maximum of 19°C, by decision of the French-speaking Rectors' Council. In case of discomfort, it is essential to submit a request for intervention to the maintenance teams of the Real Estate Administration.
The right reflex that makes a difference
Avoid leaving doors and windows open during the heating season (while respecting health recommendations - ventilate for a few minutes every two hours in rooms with little or no ventilation).
