#SaveEnergy : practical advice close to your realities !

In view of the climate emergency and the energy [over]consumption that contributes to it, this October ULiège is relaunching the #SaveEnergy campaign to raise awareness among its community of some simple but essential gestures to reduce our energy consumption.

As part of the follow-up to this campaign, a team of student job seekers from Green Office has been trained by the "Energy and Environment" unit of the Real Estate Resources Administration (ARI).

In December 2023, they will relay the #SaveEnergy campaign in the field, touring buildings to talk with the university community and raise awareness of best practices in common areas. They will also be invited to take stock of certain "energy-intensive" equipment (display screens, heaters, whose use should be avoided, etc.). They will also visit premises where a sensation of heat discomfort has been reported, to measure temperatures and check whether the problem is linked to a blocked thermostatic valve. Finally, they will be able to provide users with explanations on the proper use of thermostatic valves, and advice adapted to real-life situations.

The current context calls for a collective effort in which each and every one of us can play a concrete part. Are you particularly involved in the day-to-day management of a building? Are you interested in energy and environmental issues? Make yourself known! Anyone interested in becoming a #savenergy ambassador is invited to contact ARI's energy unit. Depending on needs and requests, small-scale training courses and/or tailor-made advice can be offered to boost the movement.

Together, let's save energy on our campuses!
